Martha looks at Reid with a small smile, and then pushes open the door of the TARDIS (if it's locked, she has a key) and walks inside.

"Doctor?" She's trying not to smile too brightly, but it feels so good to be back in the TARDIS, to be traveling, and not headed to work in 1969.

Reid's given up on trying to repress his smiles at this point and darts on, trotting right up to the Doctor and peering over his shoulder. "Getting things ready," he questions.

Then he remembers that oh, don't be quite that excited. "I mean, if you're not ready we can go kill time somehow, right?" He looks back to Martha but he truly hopes that they don't.

Turning around as the two enter, he smiles, "Well, hello there. Good to see you again," He states to Martha, smiling widely.

Oh, the fact that this trip will be difficult for him is well hidden.

Glancing to Reid, there is a grin, "Indeed." And there's a laugh, "There you go again. Really, we're ready to get going any time you two are." There's the affectionate pat given to the console.

"It is good to see you, too, Doctor."

Martha smiles, but she's wondering idly if he knows. About Gallifrey. What it's like for the Doctor she travels with.

She'll be watching him closely at any rate, because that's what Martha does. Takes care of people. Even Time Lords.

"Oh, we're most definetly ready. Thank you... by the way."

"Yes," Reid chimes in as he moves to the other side of the console, just to get a look at things. "Thank you so much."

He doesn't add the, 'I know you didn't want to do this' but he was very close. A part of him is considering grabbing Martha and mentioning it to her actually, and it's at this point that he'll give her a quick glance before smiling once more.

"Doctor," he starts. "Can I give Martha a tour? We won't go far but I'm sure she wants to see what the TARDIS used to look like before her Doctor got a hold of it."

"It's quite all right, both of you. We should be there in just a bit, so feel free to make yourselves comfortable." Five smiles and flips a lever to make sure the door is good and shut before he starts putting in the coordinates.

Glancing back to the console, he doesn't even seem to really hear Reid's words. "Yes, yes, but don't get lost in the corridors, eh?" And he's back to flipping switches and monitoring their travel.

After all, the TARDIS has a knack for getting them quite lost on occasion, "C'mon old girl..." And he offers another pat to the console.

Martha smiles and turns to Reid, tilting her head to the side and raising her eyebrows in his direction.

"Right, then. Lead the way."

He just gives her an' I'll explain in a few' look before grabbing her hand and pulling her into the corridor and stopping once he was sure they wouldn't be heard.

"Okay," he starts releasing her hand and running it through his hair. "I wanted to say this before we get there and just...I don't know, just in case anything happens." He takes a breath. "WHen I first asked him he really wasn't pleased. I mean he agreed but he just...There was something wrong there, you know? I tried telling him that we dind't have to go but he wouldn't listen, just kept saing that everything was okay and that we could go as soon as we wanted."

He bites down on his lower lip, glancing back at the console room. "I really did try to get him not take us but well, his mind seemed set on it."

"I just think we need to keep an eye on him."

Martha takes in a heavy breath and nods when Reid finishes.

"I was afraid of that. He must've found out... about what will happen." She smiles and squeezes his hand. "I was planning on it. Keeping an eye on him, that is. It'll be nice to have an extra set watching out for a change."

There's a slight laugh. "I bet it will He seems like he'd be a handfull to keep watch on your own."

There's another glance towards the console. "C'mon," he starts, giving her hand a light tug. "Lets go back before he starts thinking the TARDIS ate us."

"Believe me. He is."

Martha laughs at the way he phrases that. "Right, then. C'mon."

She pulls him with her back to the console.

"The TARDIS looks fabulous as ever. Definite changes though, Doctor."

As long as she's traveling with him in his TARDIS, she won't refer to him as Five.

Looking up as they enter again, he smiles, "Ah, yes. I still need to get these ruddy decorations down, though."

Blast Eight and his little Kitty.

"We should be there rather soon. 250 million light years from Earth isn't too far, fortunately." A nod and he checks the coordinates again, making sure everything was in working order.

He had an odd feeling, though. Both from approaching the planet as well as from the TARDIS. Oh, she was scheming already, that evil spacecraft.

So don't mind the Doctor if he is unusually quiet, it's Gallifrey, so there were many reasons for him to be silent.

"It's a lovely place, you know. The mountains are particularly extraordinary."

"I like the decorations," Reid says offhandedly, moving to play with a bit of stray tinsel that had come off the Tiem Roter.

For a moment he just stares at the blond before shaking his head. Of course that wasn't far, nothing seems too far in the TARDIS.

"I think it would all be marvellous," he replies, eyes shutting for a split second as he recalls the descriptions in his book.

And then something occurs to him. "Doctor? Where are we doing to land?"

Martha manages a smile and nods, squeezing Reid's hand and pulling him forward through the door.

"The big question is... of course, where exactly do we start?" She smiles, excited. "Do you want to find the outside? Oh. I'd love to see those mountains from closer. To really see them, you know?"

"I'll be happy going just about anywhere," he admits with a a bit of a laugh. "As long as we don't stay here the entire time."

Then a thought occurs to him. "Whatever we do, we probably shouldn't stay here for too much longer. If someone comes around looking for Romana and finds us here instead? Yeah, that might not look so good."

She blinks and her brows furrow.

"You're right. They might think we've done something with her, but really what chance do humans have against a Time Lord. That's what I'd like to know." Martha glances to the left. "C'mon, there looks to be some stairs over there. I think that's our best option right now."

Martha pulls him along with her.

"True but if they see the Doctor's TARDIS..."

Don't mind if he starts moving a little faster. He's just not going to risk anything right now, not until they've at least had a quick look around.

Heading down the stairs, eyes are darting around everywhere, trying to take in as much as they can. Occasionally the two will pass by locked doors, voices drifting through.

"We should probably stay out of sight," he whispers as a door begins to open and he's pulling Martha into what he hopes is an empty office. "They aren't exactly receptive when it comes to off worlders."

Martha smirks a little when he pulls her with him into the empty room. If he were a different man, she'd think he was pulling her into some empty, tight spot to have a makeout session.

By different man she should probably specify... Jack.

"You're right. We'll stay out of sight." She smiles and tilts her head to the side. "I'm glad one of us has read the book on Gallifrey. 'fraid I didn't exactly have time and the Doctor told me some things, but certainly not everything."

A quick makeout session with a beautiful woman is the last thing on his mind, he's more concerned with what the High Council would do to them if they were found roaming around what he could only assume to be government offices.

'I didn't finish all of it," he informs, peeking his head out the door once he believed they were safe and then beckoning for Martha to follow. "But I think I know enough to keep us from getting into too much trouble."

They start wandering again, going down more steps and passing various halls with many a closed door. Eventually though, they will reach the ground floor of the Citadel.

"I kind of wish there were a map in that book," he grumbles more to himself than to Martha. "Because I have no clue whatsoever where I'm going."

It is a refreshing change. Makeout sessions only complicate things.

Martha smiles at him. "I think your sense of direction is quite good. All things considered. What with us being on a different world. Besides, finding your way is half the fun."

She realizes that she's sounding a bit like her Doctor. It almost makes her burst out laughing.

"C'mon, I think that big door over that way most likely leads outside. We'll just stay by the walls, but try to seem nonchalant about it, yeah?"

"You know," Reid muses. "Usually when people say that, the whole 'finding your way is half the fun' thing, something winds up happening to them. Something that usually isn't that good."

Not that this is going to stop him from exploring or anything, he's just pointing it out.

"Nonchalant, right." He nods, trying at first and failing miserably, so he just goes back to gazing around at everything instead. Much easier and doesn't make him look quite as awkward.

The door that Martha has spotted Will certainly bring them closer to the outside but not quite there yet. Even so, they are permitted a view of the mountains that proves much more beautiful than the one in Romana's rooms.

Martha laughs quietly and shakes her head. "You know you didn't have to point that out. Anyway, this place doesn't seem like it would fall to the usual."

When they step through the door, Martha forgets how to breathe for a moment. The sight that greets her breaks the cages rather quickly and she finds herself struggling with emotions again.

"It's beautiful," she says, softly, "Really. Very beautiful."

"This is true."

But all his fears are soon forgotten when he catches sight of the mountains. They're breathtaking and it's at this point where he finds himself so grateful for his memory because this is something he will cherish for as long as he lives.

There is a weak nod when it registers that Martha has spoken. "It's...it's better than I could have ever imagined."

And oh, it isn't long until their little sight-seeing adventure is drawn to a momentary end. For there are weapons (guns, more specifically) pointed to both of the humans, by numerous guards.

"Both of you," one of them states, the authoritative figure, "are to accompany us immediately, you are under arrest for conspiring against the Gallifreyan government and it's leader. While we are advised to do you no harm, any resistance will surely be dealt with in an appropriate manner."

They certainly mean business.

Reid freezes at the sound of their voices turning slowly to face the guards. Things would have been fine if they hadn't had guns, really they would have. He would have gone peacefully, explained that he was here with the President, that they were her guests and if they could just get in contact with her, this would all be sorted out.

However, that was not the case, there were most definitely guns pointed at them and he was not going to take that very well.

So he grabs Martha's hand and starts running as fast and as far as he possibly can.
